Brijuni National Park
UNITERS CEO Gordian Tork, believes success as a corporation is not simply measured by the bottom line, but also how a company gives back to the global community.
Very near and dear to Mr. Tork’s heart is support for a relatively forgotten natural archipelagos in the Adriatic Sea just off the Croatian coastline, the Brijuni Islands, home to a free-range Safari Park.
Many of the wildlife now calling the Brijoni Archipelago home were originally brought to the island in the 1900s by dignitaries and celebrities as gifts to the zoological park’s original creator, Paul Kupelweiser, and later Tito, the former Yugoslav President. During this time the park served as a natural, protected haven for a wide variety of land and marine animals including elephants, zebras, turtles, and exotic deer species.
Over the years the park has weathered many geopolitical challenges, which put the animals and the park at risk. Today, with the help of Uniters, the Croatian government and others, The Brijoni Safari Park is a spectacular display of nature.To help preserve and care for the animals in the park and for future generations to visit and enjoy, part of The UNITERS Group philanthropic contributions go directly to support the Brijuni Safari Park conservation efforts.
